A good friend, mssnlayam, has decided to wake up and start blogging actively. About things that matter. To him. And to a lot of people.

Lots of interesting facts, and some very sane opinion.

Nuke, Nuked, Nukular [Oct. 2nd, 2008|10:32 pm]
Guv'nuh, whatever else you do or say, please do not say "NUKULAR".

It instantaneously reminds people of a certain president. And a certain precedent**.

Much pity, I feel. Who amongst us has never tried to BS their way through a viva/interview/conversation? I, for one, vividly recall being put in a spot by this question: 'yes, but can you be more specific?'

That's when you give up and say: 'I don't know'.

Admit it. We've all been there, said that. And known when to say it.

The difference is we were not on national television. And we were not vying to be a heart beat away.

The airline reservation Gods smile upon thee [Jun. 2nd, 2008|10:52 am]
kayak.com added a "weekend flight" feature. It "lets you compare prices on multiple flights, on multiple weekends (Fri-Sun). Saves a lot of time. Awesome. Very cool.

And about time. You wonder why it took so long to figure out that this was a needed feature. Well, at least someone at Kayak is doing their job well. I'm impressed.

Update: they should to include early Monday morning as part of "weekend".

Update 2: I hadn't noticed: if you mouse-over a return flight, it lets you filter all flights with that return fight ONLY.

Update 3: 'Filter on weekend dates' is buggy on a Mac/Firefox.

keyboard+touchpad [Apr. 2nd, 2008|11:28 am]
I hate the mouse, it makes my wrist hurt. So, I'm looking for a full keyboard with touchpad built in. There's:

a) mini:
http://www.amazon.com/Adesso-WIRELESS-SLIMTOUCH-TOUCHPAD-WKB-4000US/dp/B00083Y0YG

b) ergonomic full size:
http://www.adesso.us/product_details.asp?dept_id=106&pf_id=KA33KBPCK-308B

It needs to be Mac compatible.

Suggestions? Any other options???
